Hot Glass is valve saturation, simplified. It models a valve stage as a circuit, then gives you two controls: Drive and Output.
Push Drive and the harmonic structure becomes denser, while internal gain compensation keeps the comparison about color rather than loudness. Use Output for final level matching.
The simplicity is deliberate. Set the amount of valve character you want, fit it into the track, and get back to the mix. 4x oversampling helps keep the generated harmonics clean.
Use it on vocals, DI tracks, drums, buses, or a full mix when the signal needs more body and harmonic structure without losing its shape.
Hot Glass is not a guitar preamp, and it is not a distortion pedal. Like Fe26 and Remanence, the other members of our Tone series, it can be used across multiple tracks to add richness and cohesion to a mix without having to overthink it.
There is a fair amount of work behind those two controls. The result is simple on purpose, and we are proud to put it in your hands.
Hot Glass v4.1.2 is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, in the current plugin formats for each platform. As always, the evaluation version is fully functional.
