New maintenance releases are available across the Stillwell Audio catalog. This round addresses problems with plugin loading, presets, license installation, and stability, with several fixes specifically for Linux.
Here’s what changed in plain English:
-
Linux plugins that would not load: Some VST3 builds could fail when your DAW scanned or opened them because parts of the plugin had not been linked together correctly. That build problem is fixed, and we’ve added checks to catch it before publishing future downloads.
-
Right-click menus on Linux: Opening a VST3 knob’s parameter menu could freeze the interface. We’ve corrected how the plugin works with the DAW to open and handle those menus. This also fixes problems with returning to normal knob use afterward.
-
License installation and recognition: Linux builds now save licenses in the correct user-data folder and still check the older location for existing licenses. We also fixed a case where one license could prevent another valid license from being recognized, and added protection against accidentally overwriting an installed license by dragging it back onto the plugin.
-
Factory presets in CLAP: We’ve corrected how plugins make their factory presets available to the DAW and how those presets are recalled, including presets that restore the default settings.
-
Psycho Dither stability: We fixed an intermittent Linux CLAP crash caused by internal updates overlapping while the plugin was starting, resetting, or shutting down.
These fixes address shared parts of the plugins, so the updates extend across the catalog even where a particular problem was first reported in only one product.
The current public releases are 4.1.1, except Hot Glass, which is now 4.1.3. Updated downloads are available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
If you ran into trouble with the initial Linux or CLAP releases, please give these builds a try. Thanks to everyone who sent reports and helped us track the problems down.
